Miriam Stone graduated from Columbia University in 2003 with a degree in Anthropology and Creative Writing and was the recipient of that year's Louis Sudler Prize in the Arts. As a writer, she published her first poems at the age of 16 and went on to publish her award-winning memoir, At the End of Words, just before her college graduation. She worked as an editor and freelance writer before leaving New York in 2005 to pursue her dream of living abroad. After spending the better part of a year in Peru teaching yoga, working as an NGO consultant, and traipsing the continent with her camera in tow, she returned to the states in the spring of 2006. She currently lives in Park Slope, Brooklyn and works for Scojo Foundation.
